The muslin can come straight from a haberdashery and you could make up your own sleeves that fit onto 4' x 4' frames. These days, with an 800 ASA camera, I find Tweenies can be a more subtle source. They are a very efficient lamp as they have a wide even spread and a large output relative to their size. I was using Red Heads here as a bounce source as that was my lamp of choice back then.
The Blondes were probably going through two layers of diffusion and consequently the light was warming up so I may well have used a 1/2 Blue to compensate some. I do tend to cool down the 'daylight' on a stage set so as to allow any practical lamps to appear warmer, but it depends on the scene. I seem to remember that I did cool down the Blondes, which were outside and used direct, with a 1/4 Blue. That office was a set on stage so I wasn't using an 85.

So besides using 251 diffusion on the windows, have you used any other gels on the windows or the Redhead or the Blondes to correct for the incoming Daylight? As someone mentioned on the old forum, did you maybe use an 85ND gel on the glass doors and the windows in order to light the interior with tungsten?Īnd did you bounce the Blondes outside?
